微軟的 Windows Azure Platform 即將要有大規模的改版 (Spring Release)，筆者亦會一併著手進行 Windows Azure 教戰手札的新版改版工作。
微軟的 Windows Azure Platform 即將要有大規模的改版，在 2012/6/7 下午一點 (美西時間) 於舊金山舉辦的 Meet Windows Azure 研討會，將會發表一系列 Windows Azure Platform 的新功能以及服務強化功能 (內部統稱為 Spring Release)，筆者也接到了 Spring Release 的先期測試預覽的邀請，看過了 Spring Release 的新東西，只能以 “驚豔”來形容它，而同時預期在 6/7 發表會後，台灣區亦會正式開放商用 (commerical release)，表示台灣地區的使用者終於可以使用台灣區的地址和電話來申請使用 Windows Azure Platform 的各種服務。但限於微軟保密合約，筆者目前無法透露 Spring Release 中到底包含哪些新功能，所以請持續關注本部落格以及 studyazure.com 雲端學堂，自台灣時間 6/8 起將會有一系列的新功能介紹文章。
另外，配合這次的 Spring Release，筆者將會一併著手進行 Windows Azure 教戰手札的新版改版工作，除了重新詮釋書中既有的雲端運算概念，並整合目前市場上最火紅的 Cloud + apps (也就是手機應用與雲端的整合開發) 外，也會針對 Windows Azure Platform 上所有新功能 (例如 access control service 2.0, SQL Azure Data Sync, SQL Azure Federation 等) 進行全面的介紹與提供範例程式，讓讀者能透過這本書更能掌握 Windows Azure Platform 的全貌。但讀者仍可以利用第一版的 Windows Azure 教戰手札以及筆者部落格內的報導文章和 MSDN 邊做邊學的系列文來學習目前第一版書中未納入的 Windows Azure 新服務，因此想要搶先學習 Windows Azure 的讀者，第一版的 Windows Azure 教戰手札仍是讀者的首選。
